For the Trumpeter USS Arizona with hyper-accurate plank detail! This Wood Deck for the 1/200 USS Arizona kit by trumpeter follows our hugely successful deck for the 1/200 Yamato. This is one of our biggest decks ever, and introduces a new plank tint scheme specifically created to simulate individual teak plank color variations.

Our decks are micro-thin (about the thickness of a heavy sheet of paper) and made of 100% real wood, backed with fleece to provide working strength. Our manufacturing process combines Color Printing and Laser Cutting for extreme precision. Decks are intended to be cemented to plastic model with styrene cement, wood glue, contact cement, or epoxy. We do not provide a self-adhesive backing as our experience has shown that these can be problematic in positioning. With the fleece backing, the glue has plenty of surface to bind to.

As for the detail, this deck includes historically accurate planking, to scale for the 1/200 Arizona as she appeared on 7 December 1941. This deck is HUGE, and is based on extensive research to render the planks of the deck with incredible accuracy. We use a complicated two-step printing process because we are able to apply a line much thinner than "burning" in the pattern with the laser, plus we get to work in full color. We tint individual planks to give the look of each board being laid as a separate piece of wood, and print VERY thin plank separator lines in shades of gray. This avoids the extra-dark chocolaty-brown lines that can result when relying upon the laser to do this.

The net result is that you have a real wood surface that looks like real wood, with accurate scale and colored planks. The sheet of wood is precision cut and drops directly into place onto the plastic deck in one step. Super-fast to do, and a superb result every time!

Decks are precision measured and cut to 1/100 of an inch accuracy, and all of our decks are custom tested on actual plastic kits. This deck is known to fit the Trumpeter 1/200 USS Arizona.
